Understanding the essence of the orchid
Orchids primarily grow on the trunks and branches of trees in their natural habitat, which is accustomed to high humidity. However, keep in mind that high humidity does not necessarily mean moist roots. While they appreciate light, direct sunlight can be harmful. Opt instead for filtered sunlight—a windowsill with sheer curtains could be ideal. Orchid blooms are long-lasting and can often last up to three months, provided they are watered infrequently but thoroughly, the soil is well-drained, and the water is low in minerals.
