I changed how I cared for the money tree: buds appeared immediately and it began to bloom quickly. Now it’s simply unrecognizable.

I reduce watering and let the soil dry out a bit. I water every three weeks, sometimes even less often. However, if there are heaters nearby, you need to be more careful not to let the soil dry out completely. I only water all my houseplants with room-temperature water that has settled, so I always keep a supply of those bottles in the kitchen.

During the autumn and winter months, I find the coolest spot in the house and bring the plant there. I usually use an insulated balcony where the temperature is typically between 13 and 15°C. If you don’t have such a spot, find a corner away from heaters.

Make sure to feed the plant. If the krass grows in the same soil for an extended period, the amount of nutrients in the soil decreases. Once a month, I feed it with a plant supplement based on succinic acid, which is available at the pharmacy. I dissolve one tablet in one liter of water. This solution strengthens the plant’s immunity and stimulates bud formation.

When your money tree is preparing to bloom, spray the crown with a boric acid solution (1 gram per 1 liter of water) to prolong the flowering period.

I only repot the plant when necessary. Every plant needs to adjust after repotting, which can reduce the chance of flowering. I’ve only repotted my Krass twice, each time into a pot that was 2 cm larger than the previous one. If you use a container that’s too big, the tree will focus on building up its root system first.

If you have managed to achieve a bloom, you should remove the faded buds to prolong the flowering process.
