Taking medication is a responsible action, as you should only follow the treatment plan prescribed by your doctor. If this treatment is not followed precisely or if a medication is taken in excess, there is a possibility of adverse effects.

Paracetamol is a medication generally considered safe. However, a recent study has revealed that excessive consumption of this drug could lead to cardiovascular disease.

Some studies have linked the use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Because these drugs cause a rise in blood pressure and fluid retention, they worsen heart failure.

For this reason, paracetamol had been considered the safest option. However, new studies indicate that prolonged use of paracetamol could increase the risk of heart disease and stroke in people with high blood pressure.
